20 months!

OH MY! Are there there really only 4 months until Jacie turns 2?!?!

New words: shoe, socks, bear, bubble, bath, bus, car, circle, cracker, boat, ah-choo (fake sneeze) fish, pig, turtle, wow, juice, cute cute (thats how her mama says it), puzzle, bottle, eat, Tico, Benny, Isa (Dora characters), Big Bird, Cookie Monster is "cookie", tree, flower, booger and poo poo (those last 2 ones are great to know! HAHA)
* OKAY OKAY! I gave up after 2 weeks of trying to keep track!!!! She is learning too many too fast and I am having a hard time catching up! She is able to repeat everything we say so I honestly have no clue how many words she can say. I love that she is learning so much!!

Can say her name and recognize herself in pictures and says "baby jacie" to her baby pictures.

Can call our dog by her name "Sophie" although our cat is still "meow meow" We're working in his name...

Says "I Love you!".... if her own cute baby way of course!!

She can say almost all of the Dora characters now.

Still loves to sing and dance. She can do moves to so many songs now and will do them over and over again.
Using 2 word phases more

LOVES babies!! She got to met 2 real babies this month! She was very excited. She loved all their "accessories"

Loves to copy everything daddy does.

Holds up her play camera and say "eeeeeeeessssseee" (cheese)

She is loving to count although her counting goes like this "one, two, one, two, one two..." but it is to dang cute when she does it!

Can take her socks, shoes, jacket, and pants off. She pulls her shirts down and tries to take her diapers off too.

Can now identify all the shapes... still working on colors.

Her top right canine tooth popped through.

Loves baths more than ever since she got all her cool new bath toys and bubbles! She asks for 1 all the time and gets mad when it is not bath time. When it is bath time she yells "BATH BATH," signs bath and runs to the bathroom.

Ended her 19th month by getting diagnosed with RSV :( 20 month pictures are going to have to wait until next weekend!

Playroom.... Finally!!

We do not have an extra bedroom for a playroom but we did have a dining room that was NEVER used! We got that dining set when we lived in our apartment and I always said it was too "fancy" for a regular kitchen table so I wanted a dining room! Now after our wedding we got China so of course I needed a china hutch to match that dining set..HA.. Only time that room was ever used was for Jacie's 1st birthday food. So unfortunately that room became a storage room and a room for dust/spider webs to collect (yuck)

So... fast forward to now... having a toddler with a bajillion amount of toys that were over flowing the living room and bedroom I knew we needed to do something! We made the decision to sell our glass top kitchen table (the one I thought was more kitchen like) and moved in our "fancy" table. We moved our china hutch onto a wall I never thought I would put something like that and ya know what... I actually really like the way it looks!

Then we completely flipped our living room. Where the couch use to be is now where the entertainment center is and vice versa on top of a brand new sectional couch since our couch ripped. That said couch is now living in the playroom as more of a kid couch... I mean its ripped, so spills and stains will not do anymore damage.

Now onto the playroom. With the money we got from the table we purchased a toy storage and a toy chest that now houses all her stuffed animals (but that is in her room). We moved in lots of her big toys and some of her new Christmas toys/ older toys, the old couch and used some pinterest ideas and then BAM! We have a playroom =) I am pretty sure we all love this room and we spend lots of time in there together playing. It was definitely worth it and made me think "What made us wait this long to do it?"

Family portrait wall and a 20x30 canvas of my new favorite picture over the old couch! We also plan on moving the chandelier up or taking it down.. With the slide bus right under it no one is banging their head on it now although I don't have that problem since I am a shorty!

New toys and alphabet wall stickers. She loves pointing to the ones she knows and telling us what the pictures are of.
The other side of the room by the front door. The toy storage bin, her oil pan magnet board, the crayon J and the beginning on her "Masterpiece" wall. I just need to buy the wording to stick up.

The view of the hall leaving the room. The mirror will be hung on that wall and that is her "new" activity maze cube by the couch.

It's a language explosion!

In the back of my mind I was alway concerned about her language skills which I know I honestly had NO reason too but once I got it in my head I couldn't get it out! It started at her 15 month doctor appointment where we were asked how many words she could say and we really didn't have a good number to reply and she said animal sound don't count. She gave us info on early invention and I said " I think we will give her some more time and wait until 18 months to make that decision" With her being 5 weeks early and then her 15 month appointment being 2 weeks early it was like we were bringing in a 13 month old in!!!!! At least that is how I looked at it. I am glad I did because in those 3 months her verbal skills got bigger and bigger and by 18 months she was able to say 20-30 words/sounds if not more!

Today at 19 1/2 months she is learning new words daily! Every month on her monthly updates I have been able to list the words/sounds she is saying and so far this month I have kept up at this point but I am already up to 20 new words in 2 weeks! It is insane how much she is picking up and our understanding of each other and with others is improving. Only when she is beyond tired or frustrated she can't/WON'T communicate well but when she calms down she can tell me what she wants and no longer be upset. Of course her sign language has always been a huge help and still is in that department.

She is also started to put 2 word phrases together and is trying to repeat almost everything we say! I am glad she is continuing to grow up and learn so many new things but some days I miss the teeny tiny baby we once had!!!
