1 Month

Jacie turned 1 month this week. I can't believe its already been a month!!!! She has grown and changed so much in these last 4 weeks. She had a doctor appointment today for another weigh in and her first round of shots. She is weighing 7lbs 11oz!!! She is such a good eater now! We are still on the preemie formula with the extra calories. Her doctor said 1 more month and then we can change her. She is also now on the chart compared to full term babies. At her 2 week she was below the 3rd percentile and now she is up to the 10th!! Hopefully by 2 months she will continue to climb.

We have been dealing with some major congestion also. It is no fun for baby and for mommy!!! Hopefully over time it will get better. Being 5 weeks early we just deal with some issue a little longer than regular full term babies do. Jacie is also putting on a nightly throw up session. She really likes to do it after her bath too! I have come to the conclusion I will just probably continue to smell like formula because that smell just doesn't go away. I can bathe her and myself and yet I still smell it on both of us!!

Jacie has started grabbing things...not grabbing FOR things yet, but if she happens to get ahold of your hands, shirt or you HAIR (ouch) she does not want to let go! She is getting srtong! She has decided she likes her pacifier now and is getting good at keeping it in her mouth and she is becoming a pro at holding up her head!

Happy due date!!

I have had this day circled on my calendar for months and months. Even though she wasn't born on this day, it will always hold significance for me. It's the date I had thought about, planned around and anticipated since being told at our first ultrasound in Octber. It's still surreal to me that she is here and not in my belly. Sometimes, I think I feel her kicking and it takes a second for me to realize, wait, she's right here in my arms. I knew she was going to come early (not as early as she did though). After getting that phone call I was a nervous wreck but once we got to the hospital I knew we would be okay and was so ready to meet her! I think about the long months of anticipating her arrival, and how in just one second, she' here. I was changed forever when I looked into her eyes! Such a tiny, little girl has made the biggest impact on me and changed my life in more ways than I can count. My life is more full and my home is a happier place. All because of her.

This mommy finally has a hobby =)

SCRAPBOOKING!!!

I use to scrapbook in high school... well my version of scrapbook but I did enjoy it. I have tried a few times throughout the years to pick it up again but never would finish or even start it. NOW I have something perfect to scrapbook about and so far its been a lot of fun to do. My plans are to make 1 every year for Jacie. I just love the thought of her being 4 or 5 years old and
looking through the scrapbooks and me reading all the pages to her and showing her all the
pictures. I know my nieces love to look at pictures of them as babies and hear stories of them
so I want to do this for her!!

So here is my little preview of the pages I have done so far.

I typed up a short bit about my doctor appointments, I had an abnormal amount of appointments towards the end so I didn't write about every single one, but did at least 1-2 per month. I also still need to add stickers to my belly pictures with the number of month I was.

I printed out her birth story. On this page are pictures from the operating room

These are pictures taken in the hospital along with her pink info card from her hospital bed.

I will add her monthly page every month telling what she is doing now. This is her 0 month page.

and...her first bath page!

The next 2 pages are reserved for her newborn session pictures!! I can't wait to add more.

Tummy Time

Jacie's doctor told us we could start her on some "tummy time" today. Now I knew tummy time existed but was not really sure when to start it. I thought she still might be too young. So tonight we tried it for the first time. We placed her on her tummy during an awake time and had her head to one side for 10 mins and then turned it to the other side for 10. I think she did awesome at it!!! She was stretching her legs and lifting her head. She even moved her head to the other side twice. I thought she would just lay there and not do anything but she really did surprise me. I am so proud of her =)

Here are a few videos of tonight's performance!

2 weeks!

It is still hard to believe Jacie is even here yet alone that she is already 2 weeks old!! I got a message on my phone from my ipregnancy app (yes, I haven't deleted it yet) that my last doctor appointment would have been yesterday. I remember making those appointments probably 1 1/2 months ago and getting so excited knowing that June 10 would have been it and that on June 15 she would be here and here it is June 11 and she is already here and just perfect!

These last 2 weeks have been pretty great. Although I have never had a newborn before I really think she is an easy baby. She is eating about 2oz every 2-3 hours during the day, naps a lot and at night she is sleeping about 4 hours between each feeding! She really doesn't cry and only gets mad when she has been waiting too long for her food!!

Today we had her 2 weeks check up with the pedi. Jacie is doing great and has gained 12oz in the last week. She now weighs 5lbs 13oz. Although she is teeny and under the 10th percentile compared to a full term baby her growth is good. We go back in 4 weeks for her shots. Fun fun...

Can still fit into preemie although they won't fit for long!!
